Description

Laundry manager provides training to all employees in areas of cleaning procedures, best practices, safety, the use of all tools and chemicals, and on all disposable supplies.

  • Optimizing operations for efficiency and quality.
  • Managing staff through training and supervision.
  • Controlling costs and inventory.
  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
  • A key goal is to manage all aspects of the laundry department to support the overall business objectives of the organization.
Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations: Oversee the entire laundry process, from sorting and washing to folding and delivery, to ensure a smooth workflow.

Maximize efficiency: Implement processes to improve the speed and effectiveness of laundry services.

Maintain equipment: Ensure all laundry equipment is in good working order through regular inspection and maintenance, coordinating with engineering when needed.

Monitor and report: Track production levels and create reports on the department's activities, output, and performance.

Quality and safety objectives

Ensure high standards: Maintain top-level cleanliness, hygiene, and quality in all laundry, including linens and uniforms.

Implement safety protocols: Enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines, such as OSHA.

Handle complaints: Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.

Financial and inventory objectives

Manage budgets: Prepare and manage the department's budget to control costs and maximize return on investment (ROI).

Control inventory: Maintain adequate stock levels of all laundry supplies and chemicals and manage linen and uniform inventory.

Prevent loss: Implement measures to prevent loss and theft of company assets.

Staff and leadership objectives

Manage staff: Supervise, schedule, train, and develop the laundry staff to improve their skills and effectiveness.

Promote teamwork: Foster a positive and collaborative working environment within the department.

Support overall goals: Work with other departments and management to achieve the organization's overall goals.
